Weekend Report...

Cut the yard yesterday because I have to work 12 hour shifts most of next week and I know I won't get back to it until the weekend.

Football season is here again as NASCAR winds down its season. I think NASCAR needs to change some things and here is my list.

If you're 5 laps down-park the car, you're done.
If there is a wreck and your car is torn up pretty bad-park the car, you're done.

Knock the field down to 30 cars.
Cup drivers should not be allowed to drive in the Nationwide or Truck series unless they lost their ride in Cup.

You show your butt, you'll show your wallet. All fines should be donated to a children's hospital in the state that the offence occurred.

Don't count caution laps as laps run.
And last but not least, knock it off with the Digger Cam.

That's just my 2 cents.

Pizza, Wings & Onion Rings...

I'll miss this one this year, but next year, (Lord willing and the creek don't rise) I'll be there...

70 teams are there this year and Hillbilly Rib Runners will jump into the fire next year.

I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines because of these fools at work.

They say: One door has to close to open up another one, or, when one door closes another one will open.

Well, I'm fixing to close and lock that door for good. I've had about as much stupidity as I can handle and I'm tired of them screwing up my life with my family.

What are you going to do B.D. ?

Walk in the first day of Spring next year (or sooner) and give them the business end of my middle finger and walk away...

They need to learn the Rules of the 6 P's

Prior
Planning
Prevents
Piss
Poor
Performance

Now...they have the last three down pat. They need to learn the first three.

Like I said before...

Scholars and Fools...they know it all...

Weekend Report...

I was supposed to be laid off last week, but that didn't happen. Management kept saying:

You will be laid off the week of August 17-you can bank on that!

This was said everyday to us for two months...

So everybody (including myself) made plans for that week. I told myself:

Self, we can get a lot done that week and get caught up again.

But no...

Plans never work out. The Thursday before that weekend, they came back and said:

Oops...our bad...we need to work that week...and oh by the way...we're working 12 hour shifts. Sorry...have a nice day.

Now, you probably know where this is going so I'll stop here...but there were many (and I mean many) unhappy campers that put the brakes on and changed plans (Again) for the umpteenth time this year, myself included.

Now I'm not going to rant about these incompetent, egotistical, moronic, idiots that aren't even qualified enough to change out a roll of toilet paper much less run a company.

What would be the point?

They would still be there, playing golf, making their over inflated salaries, pointing fingers, saying:

Oops...we screwed up again! Can you, a poor down trodden stupid high school educated hillbilly stay and give up your plans and life and family and dig us out of this hole that we so stupidly put ourselves into yet once again?

Ah, the words of scholars and fools...

This & That...

Got the last of the tests done this week and hopefully I'm through with the Doctor for awhile. I've been poked and prodded enough for this year.

Even though I know one day...I will probably have to have bypass surgery because this stent will not last forever. I've had it for 7 years now and I have another artery that's 50 percent blocked as well so it's only a matter of time...

But I can't dwell on that.

I live my life one day at a time...

I'm thankful for yesterday.
I'm happy for today.
I'm hopeful for tomorrow.

But on to other things...

As I said before in a previous post, I wanted to look a the new and improved Weber WSM. So I got the chance this week and guess what...

New Man Toy?

New Man Toys...
I bought two of them. The 18.5 inch and the 22.5 inch.

Julie said...Why?

Me being the noble gentleman and quick witted scholar that I am said...Because I can!

Well shut my mouth and shoot me in the foot B.D. did you really say that?

Yes...I did have to give a better explanation of why I collect grills and smokers like other guys collect Playboy.

This noble gentleman will not be so quick witted with thy scholarly tongue next time when giving an answer to the lady of the castle.

My bad...

Weekend Report...

My lovely wife wanted some leg quarters today.

It seems that everybody had them on sale and I missed out...

So...she got some thighs instead.

Hey...chicken is chicken.

From now on...I need to look at the sale ads, because they had leg quarters at 79 cents a pound.

Well...you snooze you lose. I had to cut grass this morning and my lovely picked a fine weekend to want chicken, well she got it...

Just not what she wanted...

I need to buy a goat. This dang yard work has put a cramp in my cooking...

If you want leg quarters for the weekend, you need to buy them on Thursday, because I drove half way around Hendersonville today, and came up empty.

You know...if she liked breast (like I do) it wouldn't be a problem. Well...maybe it's a good thing she don't like breast.

Yes, that is a sexual innuendo of massive proportion but hey...

A dirty mind knows no bounds and I'm a cheap date...

This & That...

Mac & Cheese Lasagna

I'll post this recipe again...

Even though it calls for a lot of Kraft products, you can use anything you want.

I'll just tell you now, this is pretty dang good and you can add anything to make this recipe a family staple.

Me...the only thing I would add...is some hot sauce, and maybe some onions and some jalapenos.

But that's just me...

B.D.

What you need:

2 pkgs KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner
3 cups spaghetti sauce (any brand/any type...your choice)
1 lb lean ground beef
2 cups KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
4 tbsp KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instead of using the macaroni noodles from the Mac & Cheese, I actually used mini bow-tie pasta with the cheese packet from the dinner.

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Prepare mac & cheese according to package directions. Meanwhile, brown meat in skillet; drain. I added garlic powder to meat but you can add it or not.

Spoon half the mac & cheese into lightly greased 13 x 9 baking dish; top with layers of half each: sauce, meat and shredded cheese. Repeat layers. Sprinkle top with parmesan.

Bake for 20 min or until heated through.

Serve and enjoy!

Simply Thursday...

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile...

I got all of the sauce made and sold for last week and I have had a few more orders that have come in this week.

Word of mouth on this stuff has really taken off more than I could have imagined.

I have had nothing but positive reviews about the sauce and rub and everybody loves this stuff...which is a compliment to me and my recipe.

Does this give me the big head?

Heck no...

It makes you feel good when you (yourself) have nailed a recipe that you came up with and everybody wants a piece of the pie.

From not knowing anything about cooking real barbecue a few years ago, to being where I am today...

I am amazed and humbled at the same time.

Now I know how Colonel Sanders felt when he nailed his recipe for chicken.

Damn skippy...

Pizza, Wings & Onion Rings...

My girls and my lovely wife are once again headed out this morning to a bowling tournament, so good luck to them.

Robyn, has a Fall Fast pitch Softball evaluation this morning at the park, so that's where I'm headed and then afterwards I have to make a pit stop for supplies to make BBQ sauce.

I may also head across town to a place and see if they have the new and improved and bigger WSM. I'd like to see one and maybe add it to my collection of Man Toys.

It's going to be hot and humid today, so this will just be a good ol' lazy day...

Good luck girls!!!

This & That...

Things have been slow this week until yesterday...

I got 2 different orders for a gallon of BBQ sauce. 2 different orders for a quart of sauce and 1 order for a pint of sauce. Also 3 different orders for BBQ rub.

All to be made this weekend for delivery next week. Word of mouth is working well...

One guy told me that his neighbor likes it so much that they will not buy store bought anymore, they will only buy from me from now on.

Well...

I'll hook ya up brother!

Weekend Report...

Since I had to go back to the Doctor Friday, then work Saturday, it has thrown me off just a tad. (What day is it?)

After having to fast Thursday afternoon for a 7:30 Friday morning appointment and not getting done until 12:30...I was ready to (and could have) eat half a cow...

But, I settled for the pig...

Grilled pork chops.

Got home yesterday after work and hit the ground running in an attempt to get the grass cut before the rain got here. I jumped on the back first. This can become a hay field in a matter of days if I don't stay on top of it.

So...

I got that done and the side done and I was halfway done with the front when Sister Rain showed up.

SON OF A B...(excuse my French)

But now was not the time to quit. I've been washed out of my shorts before so why stop now.

Long story short...I got her done.

What is the moral of this story? (the moral teaching or practical lesson contained in a fable, tale, experience, etc.)

Mr. Sunshine needs to bitch slap Sister Rain...(excuse my French)
