This & That...

Not much going on...

I could bitch about work, but that is a curse that will never go away.

I could bitch about the weather...but that is a given.

I could bitch about the state of the world...but nobody would listen.

I could bitch about life in general...it wouldn't change anything.

I could bitch about the price of beer...but I would still buy it.

I could bitch about idiots...wouldn't make them any smarter.

I could bitch about my attitude toward everything...I'd still be a grouch.

I could bitch about money and bills...take a number and wait in line.

I could bitch about...not much going on.

Ah life...

Never a dull moment.

Weekend Report...

You know...

The temperature roller coaster ride is starting to make me seasick. I know, I know...it is still winter and it will do that around here (get your hopes up, then old man winter bitch slaps you back into the cruel reality that it's still his playground and you're only a minute speck of a peon on this rock.)

Grouchy old fart...

Spring fever does that to a man. Dreams of shorts and beer and babes out by the grill, smoke and smell and heaven...

But there are drawbacks to this dream.

Flies...

Yes, those pesky little bastards that have radar lock on me during the summer. Kill one...and ten come to the funeral, but hey...I would rather deal with them than old man winter.

Why is that B.D.?

Remember the thing on TV years ago that said "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature."

Well old man winter has a cure for spring fever...

The term "bitch slap" is derived from American slang. In the original sense, a "bitch slap" is a powerful, full-swing slap in the face with the front of the hand, evoking the way an angry pimp might slap a defiant prostitute (not to be confused with a "pimp slap" which uses the back of the hand). However, the term is now frequently used figuratively to describe a humiliating defeat or punishment.

The optimal word here being...punishment.

You know how old farts can linger...

This & That...

I have an itch that needs to be scratched. Scratched bad...

I need to smell smoke and the aroma of something goooood on the grill, I need...grilled oysters.

I've seen a few cooking shows the past few days fixing these bad boys up and my mouth has told me ever since "I've got to get me some of that right yonder, oh the things I could do with that!"

Well, it ain't going to happen this weekend, as rain is moving in from the West and I am committed on Sunday nights (only for a short while) so my mouth will just have to wait a tad bit longer.

Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Sorry about your luck...

On another note:

One of my girls had a B-Day yesterday.
So "Happy B-Day" to Tracy.

Woo-hoo!!!

Tomorrow afternoon the beer is on me honey pie...

"There are those who do not believe that a single soul born in heaven can split into twin spirits and shoot like falling stars to earth where over oceans and continents their magnetic forces will finally unite them back into one. But how else to explain love at first sight?" - Don Juan DeMarco

Weekend Report...

As said below, you must wine and dine them by candle light...

We don't partake in the fine spirit of the grape...

We...are beer snobs...

The candle light was the fire pit outside while cooking steaks and shrimp and the dine part was eating on TV tables with our butts parked on the couch watching a movie on the boob tube.

Robyn made this for her Big Daddy.

Meanwhile...

Sweetie got feisty last week playing with Julie and did something to her left back leg (sprained her ankle the Vet said) now this dog is like a Moose when she wants to play but she ain't no spring chicken anymore neither so there was an injury on the play...

Our computers are upstairs and as you know...where ever I go...my black bear is not far behind.

So last week, I stayed downstairs because she was hobbling around and not putting any weight on that ankle...I didn't want her following me everywhere so I stayed parked in front of the TV.

That's why I didn't post anything last week.

Hope you had a wonderful day yesterday.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it...

Valentine's Day...

Ah...love...

The day that guys go all out (or fall flat) to impress their gal. The day of "yes dear" and "pookie bear" and "anything y'all little ole heart desires my love."

Gag me with a spoon already.

Yeah...I know.

A man can get lucky...or screw up big time on this day of days.

You have to wine and dine them by candle light, send flowers, bring candy, be romantic, be a gentleman, and watch your P's and Q's and pay attention to the most minute detail of details.

You have to think quick on your feet, take notes, be ready at a seconds notice to fix any screw up that dares to enter your brain and exit your mouth...

You have to be suave and debonair and daring and dashing and related to Cary Grant or Fred Astaire some how...

Romance and desire, must run hot within your veins...and passion must be the steady beat of the heart she hears when you tell her you love her.

Ah...love...

Wow B.D. that was amazing, where did that come from...

Lessons of life Jethro...lessons of life.

Enjoy your day!!!

Weekend Report...

Being back on a 5 day week sucks...

Every time the "Great OZ" farts, we get shafted.

Well, at least we are still working. One of my girls' hubby works for Peterbilt and they have been locked out since last June and are now told they will be closed until whenever. They just kind of told them "sorry about your luck boys" and shut the door.

I don't see things getting any better in this business or any other for a few years.

We'll see...

I sold 3 quarts of BBQ sauce for the super bowl weekend and I have to make up some rub and sauce for a fellow today for next week. I have two recipe versions for that sauce and I'm starting to work on a vinegar base version for folks that like a little twang. Should be done with that shortly...

Got a few errands to run today and then get ready for the NASCAR BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT tonight on TV.

Later...

Simply Tuesday...

It's colder than a well diggers rear end in Alaska...

I hate this crap...

Spring...can not come soon enough to appease me and my desire for the warmth of the sun.

If I wanted cold weather to be my friend...I would buy a house in the outback of Antarctica and have a Penguin for a pet.

Brrrr...

Simply Monday...

My brother-in-law (Dave) played Chef Saturday night. And I must admit...he did a fine job for a lowly white boy.

Most of the family was there to partake in the cooking of steaks and potatoes and all of the fixings. We sat outside by the fire, drank a few brews, talked about the world and ate some fine food.

This family that I married into has very close ties, and all of the brothers-in-law get along very well and we're all about food.

Myself and Dale...are the main cooks...but we don't turn our nose up at Dave's cooking because he has come a long way and has learned a few tricks from us.

Yep...

Not bad...for a white boy...

Happy Anniversary...

Happy Anniversary to us.

Julie and myself celebrate and commemorate our 8 years of marriage today. We still love each other just as much today as we did when we first fell in love years ago.

We are best friends, husband and wife, mom and dad and we still enjoy being with one another.

And no...we are not perfect...we have our moments, but we give space to one another, neither one dominates the other and we talk to each other...not at each other.

We discuss and make decisions together and we make a perfect team. Our hearts hold hands as one...and we respect one another.

Happy A-day honey!!!

B.D.

P.S. Dave (one of my bro-in-law) played Chef lastnight. I'll fill you in on that, on the next post.

Enjoy your day and the game tonight!!!
