It was cold and windy yesterday. I don't see how people that live up North can function in cold weather (well I should say colder weather) because I freeze when it's 32 around here.
Julie has a new ride as of yesterday, a 2006 Trail Blazer. Very nice... and the folks at Tom Bannen Chevrolet were super nice to us and very helpful.
I'm going to post the updated version of my grilled hot wings and three more dip recipes for you to add to your collection.
Enjoy your day!!!
Have a great Super Bowl!!!

Mexican Chili Cheese Dip
1 (15 ounce) can hot chili with beans
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
1 lb ground beef
16 ounces Velveeta cheese
10 ounces extra-sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
1 (1 ounce) package hot taco seasoning mix
2 (16 ounce) bags corn tortilla chips
In a deep pan, brown ground beef, drain and return to the pan. Add Taco seasoning and prepare according to seasoning instructions. Add hot chili and refried beans. When hot, add the velveta. (It helps to cut it up into chunks.) Once melted, add the grated cheese. Once all hot and melted together, transfer to a crock pot. Serve with chips and stand back.
Chili Dog Dip (Microwave)
1 (16 ounce) can chili without beans
2 hot dogs
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened at room temperature
1 small white onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) package of shredded cheddar cheese
Frito Scoops or Tortilla chips
Heat hot dogs in the microwave for 30 seconds. Chop into bite-sized pieces. In a 9x9 glass baking dish, spread the package of cream cheese. Pour the can of chili over the cream cheese.
Place hot dog pieces on top of chili. Place chopped onions on top of hot dog pieces.
Sprinkle cheese over top of everything. Heat in microwave on high for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and dip is heated through. Serve with Tortilla chips, or any other of your favorite chips.
Bacon-Tomato Dip
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup diced chile peppers
1 large tomato, diced
1 lb bacon, cooked crisp, cooled and drained
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
black pepper to taste
shredded lettuce, for garnish (optional)
In medium bowl with a mixer, blend sour cream, mayonnaise, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped onion and green pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper. Crumble bacon into small pieces and add to mixture. Add chopped tomato and stir well. Garnish with shredded lettuce just before serving, if desired. Serve with Townhouse crackers or Wheat Thins. Also good served in a bread bowl with bread cubes to dip.
(And I'll just throw this one in for the heck of it.)
Sausage Balls
1 lb bulk sausage
1 (10 ounce) package sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
Allow cheese and sausage to reach room temperature. Place in mixing bowl with Bisquick and blend till smooth. (I've had great success using my hand-held electric mixer to incorporate ingredients). NOTE: Mixture will be quite dry. Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Spray well with vegetable oil spray. Press/roll mixture into 1 inch balls by hand. Place onto cookie sheets about 1 inch apart. Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or till golden brown. Drain on paper toweling, insert toothpicks. Serve warm.
